Payment providers are companies that connect your webshop to your business account. These companies offer a variety of electronic payment methods for a variety of countries.iDEAL is a payment service provider (PSP) that facilitates direct and secure online payments and can be directly linked via your webshop to your bank or PSP. This means that with one iDEAL connection, all online banking users from all participating banks can pay for products in your webshop.
Payment Service Providers
In addition to a direct iDEAL link with your bank, SEOshop also has partnerships with various payment service providers. PSP’s are companies that accept various types of online payments other than iDEAL. Depending on your payment service provider, you can choose from several payment methods such as credit card or PayPal for international sales.
PSP costs depend on the type of service being offered. Some PSP’s may charge connection fees, monthly subscription fees, transaction fees or additional costs for credit card payments.
There are two types of PSP:
- Distributing PSP’s: are responsible for payment processing only. The payment will be immediately deposited into your business account once the transaction is complete. You are, however, required to negotiate contracts with banks regarding payment methods. A distributing PSP is therefore only interesting if you have a large number of transactions.
- Collecting PSP’s: are responsible for all administrative duties. You can opt for weekly or monthly payments. Although these companies save you time by taking over all administration duties, the disadvantage is that payments are not immediately deposited into your account once the transaction is complete.
